Description

As an intern for TRGR, I did a lot of work for their social media presence and helped bring advertising campaign concepts to reality. I also managed one of the clients and their media presence online with the creation of relevant posts and content for holidays and events.

Key Features

  • Heavy use of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, with some After Effects too
  • Brainstorming design solutions with a team
  • Creating visuals for events and announcements
  • Regular client meetings regarding brand presence and social media activity
  • Redesigning TRGR's social media strategy

Project Duration

6 months

A Deep Dive

My role was on the campaign team, where I was working under Menzo Kwint, the senior campaign designer. He would provide the campaign concepts, and my job was to turn the concepts into usable files, so if he just did a sketch, I would be working that sketch out into a photoshop file with all the right assets and spacing for all the export formats.

Alongside this work, I also worked with the web team to convert flat concepts to separate layers so we could animate them better for the web campaigns. Overall, my jobs were varied and diverse, but anything related to design work could always be sent my way.

As my chosen assignment for the internship, the project manager and I decided to rework the social media guidelines together. This project included creating a new workflow for posting to social media, with all branding materials collected in one place. This work led to a far stronger brand presence online for TRGR.

Results

Although I'd like to give the clients relative privacy, my work for TRGR's own social media should still be visible here, on their Instagram page. With my social media strategy, the TRGR's Instagram activity grew by 59%, and activity on LinkedIn by 122% in the 6 months I was there.

Description

Personal challenge encompassing a year of drawing every day to develop stronger illustration skills.

Key Features

  • 365 days of drawing
  • Personal skill development
  • Creative consistency
  • Colour theory, composition, anatomy, shape language and many more topics studied

Project Duration

365 days

Methodology

One of the biggest challenges here was how to maintain the drive to make something new every day. I kept some rules for myself to help with this. As long as I had created something and posted it on social media to hold myself accountable, I considered it a success.

The usage of social media as an accountability tool was perfect, as I wouldn't want to post work that I wasn't happy with. On the occasions where that did occur, I would use the next day to create that piece again to a better standard.

Results

My illustrations can all be found on my Instagram page, and I hope to create a cool way to showcase them online in a future project.

Description

Client commission to design a logo and brand guidelines for a legal startup centred around e-sports.

Key Features

  • Logo design
  • Showcasing different brands within one design

Project Duration

1 month

Methodology

I held approx. 3 meetings with the client throughout the project. The first was about their business and identity, the second was to review the first iteration of logos, and the third meeting was to choose final designs.

If I had picked up this project today, I would have ensured to also validate the logo designs with their target audience better so the final results aren't only perfect for the business owner, but also for their clientele.

Description

Crafting visuals for event promotion and social media marketing to help maintain and grow the community. In my time with GLiTCH, I worked on various digital designs ranging from social media posts to photography to twitch overlays and animations.

Key Features

  • Bespoke illustrations for each event
  • Designing for a younger target audience
  • Incorporating brand guidelines
  • Working in many different formats

Project Duration

13 months

Methodology

This position granted high levels of creative freedom. The main goal was to draw from popular imagery with the target audience and use bright eye-catching colours to draw attention to the various events.

In some cases, more specific requirements were given for designs, where I would work with the client to hone the designs to their own spec and needs.

Results

My designs for GLiTCH can be found on their Discord server as well as on their Instagram account from posts at the time.
